How to donate

Your donations are vital. We need to raise substantial funds for the ongoing projects at the National, all of which help make it the country's leading hospital in neurology and neurosurgery.

By GAYE (Give As You Earn)
By GAYE (Give As You Earn)As a tax-paying employee, one of the most efficient ways of giving is through Payroll Giving, or Give As You Earn (GAYE) as it is sometimes known. With this, the employer deducts the gift from the employee’s pay (or retired employee’s pension) before tax is calculated and the donor pays tax only on the balance of their salary. So for example, a donor paying 22% tax and pledging £10 a month would notice a deduction from their net pay of only £7.80 a month, the remaining £2.20 coming from tax relief.

If you would like to donate this way, you will need to check whether your Payroll Department is set up for GAYE. Then download and complete the GAYE Form and hand it to your Payroll Department.

Giving lots

Giving lotsGiving Lots offers charities and their supporters (individual and corporate) a secure, professional, trusted and personal platform from which lifestyle items, £5 to £5 million, can be auctioned and sold. The concept offers its registered users the opportunity to buy a variety of items. In a nutshell, it’s a top-quality, full-time, online charity auction. Charities and corporate and individual supporters can donate new items to the site direct. Giving Lots also gets buyers to re-donate items purchased at major charity auctions they have been unable to redeem. They can be resold for charity on the site. It’s great for buyers (there are some truly lovely things for sale), and it’s a really lucrative fund-raiser: for very little effort, check out the website to view National Hospital lots.

Organising an event?

If you are interested in organising a fundraising event of your own - be it a ball, a parachute jump, bike ride or even a beard shave we are here to help. Contact Alex Adie at alex.adie@uclh.nhs.uk or Glen Pickard at glen.pickard@uclh.nhs.uk for a fundraising pack.

 Gift aid it...

Gift aid it...

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further.

This means that £100 can be turned into £125, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. This makes a huge difference to us – and what's more it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Leaving a lasting legacy of hope

You may choose to leave a gift for The National Hospital in your Will. If you would like information about how to go about this, please contact us on 020 7829 8724.

To receive our Will Pack, please contact Leigh.stanger@uclh.nhs.uk
